Rabat , the capital of Morocco , is located in the North
of the country on the Atlantic coast on the left bank of the mouth of river Bou
Regreg, facing the city of Salé . Rabat is the main political and administrative
center of the country. It is the home of the Royal Palace , governmental bureaus,
Embassies, the leading Medical School and premier university hospital center of
the Kingdom.
Rabat is the home of many districts as varied as Agdal,
Souissi, Ryad (well off residential quarters), Océan, Aviation and Yacoub Ben Mansour
. Salé, which is part of the municipal area, is a "dormitory suburb" connected to
Rabat by a bridge. Surrounded by ramparts, the Kingdom's capital has a substantial
architectural heritage including many monuments such as the gates in the walls of
the ole kasbah of Oudaïa, the minaret of the Hassan mosque (12the century) rising
up 55 meters high, one of the rate vestiges of this unfinished edifice, and near
the city then necropolis of Chellah. The city has several museums (archeology, crafts).
It is the home of Mohammed V University (1957), several cultural institutes and
institutions of learning.
A large port city, Rabat is also a trading and industrial town
(textiles, food products, building materials) where tourism and craftsmanship play
a major economic role.
Rabat has several train stations including the main railway
station which is 3 minutes from the clinic.
The Rabat international airport is 15 minutes away from the
clinic, and 60 minutes from Casablanca airport.
